The “Portuguese Shoes: Sexiest Industry in Europe” campaign, aimed to promote the Portuguese footwear internationally, won the award for business promotion, in the category of internationalization support. The runner was French champagne, represented by the International Relays of the Champagne-Ardenne.
These awards were sponsored by the European Commission, which aims to reward innovative campaigns that promote European products and companies.
Portuguese models Sara Sampaio and Gonçalo Teixeira were hired to add beauty and style to the campaign.
The Portuguese Association of Footwear (APICCAPS) has invested heavily in international fairs, allowing about 120 companies to be present in the most important fairs worldwide.
